Glen Ellyn Youth Baseball Has Joined Little League Baseball

Glen Ellyn Youth Baseball is excited and proud to announce its new affiliation with Little League Baseball beginning with the upcoming 2012 season. By joining an organization with such an established reputation, the great tradition of baseball in Glen Ellyn will get even better, building on the amazing work done by so many volunteers over the past 60 years.

Little League, founded in 1939 in Williamsport, Pa., is the world’s largest youth sports program with more than 2.8 million children and 1 million volunteers in more than 100 countries. More than 30 million people have played in Little League programs. Its storied history has captured the hearts of young ball players and families around the world, with many having witnessed at one time or another the pinnacle of youth baseball on TV during the Little League World Series.

Our affiliation with Little League will provide several exciting benefits to help ensure a fun and rewarding baseball experience for all participants that include:

Participation in the ‘Road to Williamsport’ for the part-time summer travel program (comprised of 12U House League players)
Other unique tournament opportunities for part time summer travel teams (various age levels)
A well-defined, consistent rule structure at all levels provided by Little League to help make games easier to manage
Extensive on-line library valuable tools and resources for all age levels to help coaches, parents and players with practice planning and skill development.
An on-line resource center for umpires to help with game calling and management

By combining our stronger alignment with the White Sox Academy and the official support of Little League and the Park District, this next generation of Glen Ellyn Baseball will prove to be a fantastic experience for all.

Registration for Spring House League Baseball

In-Person registration for players, as well as those interested in coaching or umpiring will be held on Saturday, January 28^th at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School (350 Bryant Avenue) from 9 AM to Noon.

Take this time to visit with league commissioners or other volunteers to talk baseball for 2012, ask any questions you might have or even volunteer to help make 2012 the best baseball season ever in Glen Ellyn. Merchandise, including different styles of shirts/sweatshirts and hats will be on sale as well. For those who are unable to stop by in person, registration can be done on-line through the Park District web site before the 28^th.

Glen Ellyn Classic
Glen Ellyn Youth Baseball is proud to announce the dates for its annual Glen Ellyn Classic hosted by our travel program, the Glen Ellyn Rebels. The Glen Ellyn Classic is a tournament for full-time travel teams at the 10 and under, 11U, 12U, 13U and 14U levels. What's on Deck

Registration for the Spring house leagues will take place Saturday, January 28th from 9 am to noon at Ben Franklin Elementary School.

The next Executive Board Meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 7th at 7:30 pm at Ackerman Sports and Fitness.
